NEW PLOTE LEADER ARRESTED (99 Sep 22)
The new deputy leader of PLOTE, Haribabu was arrested by the army on Saturday the eighteenth by the army. He was appointed the deputy leader after the murder of Manikkadasan.
According to a report in the Divaina Haribabu had been arrested in a PLOTE camp in Kovilkulame in Vavuniyava. The army believes that Haribabu is responsible for the killing of Manikkadasan.
It is also reported in the Divaina that more investigation will be done in order to find out whether Haribabu has connections with the LTTE. Earlier it was reported that the LTTE has penetrated into the other Tamil racist parties.
Incidentally Manikkdasan's mother and the mother of Gamanayake, the former secretary of the JVP had been cousins.
