TamilEela Ikkiya Viduthala Munnai to Celebrate Maveerar’s Day and Colonel Karuna to Deliver Policy Statement

Elaborate arrangements are being made for the Mavaeerar Day’s (Heroes’ Day) celebrations by the TamilEela Ikkiya Viduthala Munnai and one of the joint Presidents V.Muralitharan nom de guerre Colonel Karuna is expected to deliver the policy statement on Saturday 27th November.

Colonel Karuna’s address according to TamilEela Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP) could be heard live in the London based Tamil Broadcasting Corporation and video clippings too is to be made available in the TMVP website.

Organizers informed that Karuna would be addressing to the Tamil nation at 5 PM evening- Sri Lankan Time on 27th November. TMVP spokesman said that transcript of his speeches would be made available both in the English and Tamil languages to the medias nationally and internationally.

. Also it is expected that many more radio and TV stations internationally have come forward to broadcast the address of Colonel Karuna. Organizers of the TMVP said that these details are yet to be worked out.

This will be the first time Maveerrar day would be celebrated by two rival militant groups to pay homage to the Tamil fallen heroes in a two different separate ceremonies .

Earlier, Maverrar day celebration was held for three days, concluding on 27 November, on which day in1982, Lt. Shanker, the Initially, Heroes Day celebrations started in 1989, held on a single day on 27 November, at Batticaloa in the Eastern province, during the Indian occupation of the North and Eastern provinces.
