The mistaken effort to secure unity by force of arms produces neither unity nor amity. It produces as we see today in such large and distressing measure, only death and destruction, hostility and bitterness and the warping of the psyche and lives of generations to come in both our nations.... If the end in view really is peace , that determines that one should try to get peace by peaceful means. The Sri Lanka government's effort is precisely the opposite of this and the means adopted in error will predictably vitiate the purported end. That a government of any country can publicly , brazenly and repeatedly make such an egregious assertions demonstrates a failure of education in that society and an elementary confusion in rational thinking at the very highest levels of that society.- By Adrian Wijemanne [This message has been edited by Vijay (edited March 17, 2001).] [This message has been edited by Vijay (edited March 22, 2001).] |
