There is a wrong notion in this country that Tamils constitute a distinct nation. Tamils are only an ethnic group in Sri Lanka and they cannot be called a separate nation. Like the majority ethnic groups in other countries, the Tamils in Sri Lanka too is a component of the Sri Lankan community. But unfortunately they talk of a separate history, a separate culture, and a traditional homeland etc. In this effort they endeavour very much to create a small kingdom for themselves. This is in addition to having Tamil Nadu (meaning Tamil state) a vast area of Southern India constituting over 60 million Tamils just 30 km across the Sea.If Sri Lanka is to be considered as composed of two separate states, it cannot be supported by any historical, ancestral, or religious basis. They are very much similar to the majority community Sinhalese in their culture, religion, and mode of their life styles. The grouse of the Tamils is that they are oppressed and suppressed. This claim cannot be sustained and maintained because they received equal status with the majority community in every respect. For instance the present Minister of Foreign Affair is from the Tamil Community. There is another Cabinet Minister and a couple of Deputy Ministers from the Tamil community. Since the days of European invasions Tamils were given preferential treatment by them in administration, trade and commerce, education, agriculture, armed forces etc. to ensure the subjugation of the Sinhala majority in the country through the concept of "divide and rule". Thus it stands beyond any reasonable doubt that Tamils as an ethnic group in Sri Lanka is not suppressed or not oppressed but in fact the more privileged for over three centuries of foreign domination. Since independence from the Europeans, Sri Lanka, together with other post-conlonial countries in Asia and Africa is in the process of negating these handicaps imposed on the local native majority races by the natural process of equal opportunities to all citizens. However, the Tamil leaders since the 1940s have worked on the principle that "existing privileges, given by the Europeans to ensure the subjugation of the Sinhala majority, shold not be withdrawn. To cap this all the Tamil community continues to wields the strongest position in the business circle controlling the economy in the country. These few points suffice to nullify the claim by the Tamils that they are victimised by the so called Sri Lankan Sinhala Government. On the contrary it is the other way about. The LTTE which is a ruthless-gruesome terrorist organization has no political feelings at all. Their justice, their law and their faith is terrorism and nothing else. The LTTE was never fighting for the cause of the Tamils if there was any. If so there was no reason for them to kill the hands that fed them, the likes of Rajiv Gandhi, Appapillai Amirthalingam, and Ranasinghe Premadasa The LTTE has no Public Support nor do they represent the people. They are a group of gun - totting terrorists masquerading as Freedom fighters led by a Megalomaniac who demands the willingness of the populace by duress. Prabharakan will meet his Waterloo sooner than later, and the DoomsDay of the LTTE is not very far. |

Yah!!, THEN, why did you killed our people & politicians from DAY ONE: Colombo Riotes and Jail killing and Village massacres? THEN, why did you burn our only institution, the JAFFNA library. THEN, why did you thrown stones and killed our politicians who protested peacefully against your attrocities(Sinhala only, Buddism only laws and ethnic cleansing, illegal colonizations and so on)? THEN, Why did you stoped our Tamil Students from going to universities, they will be studying not fighting now if you had allowed them to study? THEN WHY did you digged a MASS GRAVES in CHEMMANI? WHY THEN, THE WELIGADA, POOSA JAILS? Why did you TORTURED & KILLED MY INNOCENT HIGH SCHOOL FRIENDS FROM JAFFNA IN THOSE JAIL?
WHAT HAPPENED TO MY FRIENDS? DO YOU KNOW? THEN, Why did you asked our people to go and hide in NAVALI CHURCH during your JAFFNA liberation and later BOMBED your so called VERY OWN TAMIL PEOPLE? SL is always going to be a majority Sinhala country ... if Tamils want to live there peacefully under the rules and dictates of the govt like other minorities do in other countries they are welcome to ...but LTTE and all supporters can go to UK or Canada or Tamil Nadu or anywhere ... or die ... simple choice .. |

What a load of crap! Racism is very alive and kicking in UK... you just need to know where to look. And Canada? Don’t make me laugh. Try demanding for a different state in one of those countries you just mentioned and see how they'd react. Next time you decide to lie through your teeth, try not to use the caps-lock, it makes it that much more evident. |
