The Turku Islamic Society, located at Yliopistonkatu was founded some time in 1992 by a group of youths in Islam.This Society comprises of a five men executive body elected every year.The res- ponsibilities of this body is to manage and coordinate religious and financial issues relating to the mosque and to see to it that muslim brothers are united.This is indeed a very big responsibility.

Over a short period of time,the examples of Muslim brothers in Turku triggered the reversion of approximately 20 Finns in Turku.There are about 20,0000 muslims in Finland.800 includes Finns.This is a remarkable thing considering Finland's posture towards religion.A lot of difference will occur with time.
