ENJOINING ORDER ON BCCSL

The District Judge of Kolomba, Mr. A.W. Salam issued an enjoining order on Wednesday the seventh restraining the
newly elected members of the executive committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) from
holding office and functioning in the relevant capacities until the adjudication of the case. This is in sequel
to an application filed by Mr. Clifford Ratwatte challenging the recent election.
The order of the District Court stated that having perused through the plaint, proxy and the relevant documents
annexed, it does not seem to Court that the said election was valid in law or reasonable.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dhammika Ranatunga, the chief executive of the BCCSL, at a press conference has allayed fears that
the Order would crippled the activities of the Board in connection with the world cup.
