Ambassador Amunugama presents credentials to President Gauk

Dr. Karunathilaka Amunugama, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Federal Republic of Germany presented his credentials on Tuesday the 2nd Sept. to the President of Germany Joachim Gauck at his official residence the Schloss Bellevue.

President Gauk while warmly welcoming Ambassador Amunugama, to Germany extended his heartfelt greetings to President Rajapaksa, and the people of Sri Lanka. He also wished Ambassador Amunugama success in all his endeavours during his tenure in Germany and especially towards his efforts to promote bilateral relationships with renewed vigor.

Ambassador Dr. Amunugama, is a decorated carrier diplomat who has served Sri Lanka in a number of Asian countries in various capacities and also served as the Ambassador to China; one of the most prestigious posts, which only the top drawer diplomats in Sri Lanka, get to hold. Before he took office as the Ambassador to Germany, he served as the Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs and as the Secretary to the Ministry of Investment Promotion in Sri Lanka.
