GoldQuest participants fight for rights

Sep 5 (IL) Over 10,000 participants of the GoldQuest Network-Marketing System are to form an Organization of Network-Marketers shortly.

The network-marketers through the organization expect to portray the correct picture about the GoldQuest Network-Marketing System and request the Central Bank and other relevant authorities to take in to consideration the plight of the participants when making decisions.

"We thought of forming this organization since many of the participants of our island-wide 10,000 signature campaign proposed that this should be done. We have already had the preliminary discussions about this with a few of our leading Independent Representatives (participants)", Mr. Lakshman Withanachchi, himself and Independent Representative said.

Over 10,000 Sri Lankan beneficiaries of the GoldQuest Network-Marketing System signed a petition recently addressed to the Governor of the Central Bank in which they ‘appealled against the injustice they have to face due to certain misconceptions that have been portrayed about a legitimate e - commerce network-marketing system.

“The present UPFA government which came in to power in the previous general elections pledged that they would promote entrepreneurship and self-employment schemes. This is very much in line with those policies and I cannot understand why the Central Bank is against this”, another Independent Representative of the system said.

He added that the petition letter and the 10,000 signatures collected island wide has already been handed over to a parliamentarian who has promised to forward it to the relevant officials and public representatives on behalf of the people
