Apr 25 (InfoLanka) The Colombo Municipal Council will demolish all unauthorized hoardings and those not displaying the authorization number found within the city by May 2 Municipal Commissioner Dr. Jayantha Liyanage said yesterday.
A press release issued by Dr. Liyanage said:
"On 4th April 2003, I have dispatched notices to all parties owning hoardings in the city of Colombo to ensure that all unauthorized hoardings are removed or CMC authorization number is displayed on the hoarding within 14 working days, ending on 30th April 2003 in view of the intervening long Sinhala and Hindu New Year holidays.
"Accordingly, failure to remove all unauthorized hoardings and the display of authorization number by 2nd May 2003, will compel the Council to remove them reluctantly without any further notice. All hoardings that do not carry the authorization number will be considered as unauthorized".
