At a press meeting of the Thun Korale Electorate and Print Media personnel held at the Dehiowita Malwasawa Hotel, Labour Minister Athauda Seneviratne, answering a question fielded by a correspondent said it is just a myth that the government will be dictatorial if it gets a two third majority in the General Election.

He reminded that the government under President J. R. Jayewardene got five sixth majority and still it was not a dictatorial government. Some foreign powers in collaboration with certain local owners are attempting to destabilize the Rajapakse Government. They are using the former General Sarath Fonseka as a bait. It is very unfortunate that General Sarath Fonseka who is also one who eradicated terrorism in the country has fallen into their trap.

The Minister said that they are asking for a two third majority to show the world that the people of Sri Lanka are united under President Mahinda Rajapakse. If we are united no power can harm us, instead, they would help us in the long run, he said.
