JVP to complain to regulator

The JVP is to lodge a complaint with the Telecom Regulatory Commission claiming that the online petition of General Sarath Fonseka has been blocked by the authorities. However Director General of the TRC Anusha Pelpita said that the government has no need to block the website and so rejected the claims by the JVP.

JVP MP Vijitha Herath, speaking to Daily Mirror online, claimed that the website had been blocked since last evening. He said that the company which created the website has been informed to look at avenues through which the website can be accessed.

When contacted the Director General of the Telecom Regulatory Commission and information department Director Anusha Pelpita said that the government has no need to block the website and so rejected the claims by the JVP. (Daily Mirror online)
