A group of representatives from some international organizations are in Sri Lanka to monitor General Sarath Fonseka’s arrest and his legal proceedings, Mrs. Anoma Fonseka told Daily Mirror online.

According to Mrs. Fonseka she has invited at least six organizations including human rights groups to send their representatives to Sri Lanka to monitor the developments following the arrest of her husband by the Military.

She said that two representatives from these organizations were already in Sri Lanka and had attended the Supreme Court hearing yesterday into the fundamental rights petition filed by her husband.

Meanwhile Mrs. Fonseka is to meet several political party representatives today to discuss the upcoming General Elections. She also said that she has been advised by her husband not to enter politics. (Daily Mirror online)
