Russia,
a country that spans eleven time zones and two continents,
ending less than 50 miles from North America. Russia is the
largest country on earth, with enormous tracts of land.
One
of the most notable features of present day Russia is a renewed
celebration of the wealth of its past and its potential for
the future. Throwing off the blanket of communist uniformity,
Russia today is a nation of enormous diversity and tremendous
vitality. It is as if the cultural traditions of a century
ago have re-awakened with a newfound strength - ancient cathedrals
are being rebuilt and restored, colorful markets hum with
activity once again and literature and the arts are quickly
regaining the creative renown they enjoyed decades ago. A
new Russia is now in full bloom
Moscow
- the Heart of Russia, its political, scientific, historical,
and architectural and business center, from which power and
might of the Russian state developed.
Kursk
is one of the oldest cities of European Russia not far from
Moscow. It is a large industrial, Cultural, Historical &
Scientific Center with an average temperature in summer +20
C & in winter –8 C.
The population of the city is more than 500,000.
Kursk
is connected with Moscow, St-Petersburg, Kiev, and cities
of the Crimea and the Caucasus by railroads. Highway Moscow
– Simpferopol passes through Kursk; bus routes connect
all regional centers of the area.
Kursk
region abounds in generous nature and historical events. Kursk
nightingales with their unique trilling, aroma and juicy Kursk
apples, Kursk magnetic anomaly, and the great Kursk battle,
which determined the outcome of World War II are known all
over the country.
There
are museums and exhibition halls, theatres and concert halls
in Kursk and towns of the area. At concerts of organ music
or symphonic orchestra, it’s a lovely ancient and beautiful
region of Nightingales.
Our
steppe is especially beautiful in spring and in summer. You
can see a marvelous multicolored carpet of grass and flowers,
which stretches up to the horizon. The Central-Black-Soil-Biosphere
reserve "Streletskaya steppe " unites spices of
virgin steppe flora. The scientists of the reserve carry out
researches under the program "Interkosmos". There
is a special track, which allows people to see the world of
nature without human interference.
A
great variety of flora spices make the main color aspect of
the steppe change every ten days during flowering period (from
May to September). The steppes and meadows are intermittent
by woods and rivers. More than 900 rivers flow on Kursk ground,
Seim being the main of them. The animal world of partially
wooded steppe is very rich. You can see elks, roe deer, wild
boars, beavers, larks and nightingales there.
