Myth and Fact: famous Miracles

By Hari Sampath

Date: 07-18-00

From: http://www.sathyasaivictims.com/lie_Hari_famousmiracles.htm

I am going to post a series of Sai Baba "miracles" and the actual story of what happened so that devotees can see how these things get distorted far out of proportion. ALL these stories are from what I had heard personally and I can testify to their factual accuracy from my own personal encounters with those who knew the facts.

"MIRACLE" CAR ACCIDENT RESCUE IN GERMANY

Myth :In the 1970's there was a story doing the rounds in the Sai Baba devotee circles. The story was that an elderly couple from Germany were visiting Sai Baba for the first time in Abbotsbury, Madras where SB was staying. They were seated in the first row, and as Sai Baba went past them, he stopped, turned around, came back to them and said, " your daughter and son-in-law were about to be crushed by a truck in Germany on a highway, I saved them". Later, it was found to be true, and their daughter and son-in-law were indeed nearly involved in a collision with a truck, but had a narrow escape. Effect: All Sai Baba devotees were so excited by this "miracle" and "omniscience" of Sai Baba, that they most enthusiastically spread it all over the place and probably resulted in attracting more devotees.

Fact: What had actually happened was this, their daughter and son-in-law had a narrow escape from a truck collision, and had called their hotel in Madras to tell them about this. As the elderly couple had already left to see Sai Baba, the message was passed onto to some other member of their group who rushed to Abbotsbury to inform them, but couldn't get in as all the lines were full at the Darshan grounds. So, they passed on the message to some head volunteer to be conveyed to the elderly couple from Germany who were inside. Upon hearing this, news about this was taken immediately to Sai Baba by an eager to please and faithful devotee who said, " by Swami's Grace, that couple's daughter and son in law were just saved from an accident in Germany". SB, of course smiled knowingly and said "I know, I know..." like he always does, and asked someone to move that couple to the first row. As he had not seen them before, he walked past them first, and then upon a volunteer helpfully saying "this is the one, Swami", SB walked back and grandly announced his "miracle".
So, a "miracle" was heard "first hand" by all those present nearby and no doubt passed on to hundreds of others, each time a little bit added probably.
When the couple returned to the hotel, they called their daughter in Germany, who naturally confirmed the story. Thinking they were singled out for some "divine grace", this elderly couple were only too happy to "positively" confirm it for a lot of people to report in their books.
Result: One more "miracle" confirmed personally by the recipient, and "seen" by hundreds of others, goes into the records.

THE AIRPLANE RESCUE "MIRACLE"

This is a very popular story that was doing the rounds in 1995-6.

Myth: An aeroplane, preparing for landing, in Venezuela, ran into some very serious trouble. The pilot announced that all was lost. A Sai Baba devotee on board prayed to Sai Baba, and saw Sai Baba appear in the skies!!!! He appeared to be holding his right hand, palm facing up, and actually holding the plane, till it landed safely. The Sai Baba devotee, quickly took out her camera and snapped a picture of "Swami in the skies, among the clouds" (Rs 50-/ in PN, by the way ) . This incident was reported in The "Venezuela Times" next day as "Indian Saint appears in mid air to save plane"

Effect: Spectacular!!! What a great miracle!! Swami is giving another example of his Omniscience and control over nature and saving Grace!!! Reported to all and sundry, along with thousands of copies of the photo sold and distributed. When Sai Baba was asked about his comments, he said grandly after taking a look at the photo "where a devotee's heart is pure, Swami would even save hundreds of people by traveling anywhere". Later, news trickles in from the inner circle that actually as the plane was going to crash, Swami was telling those around him that he had just been to the other part of the world to save a plane as a devotee had called. How fantastic!!!!

Fact: Like most landings, the pilot was expecting a bumpy touch down, that is all. And like all Sai Baba devotees (if any of you have ever flown with Sai Baba devotees, you will know what I am saying), this particular devotee instantly started praying to Sai Baba. She had with her a copy of "Avatar" by Howard Murphet which she was reading and held the book close to her heart. As it was quite into early evening and slightly dark, she saw the reflection of the photo on the book cover on the glass window of the plane (the picture she took is an exact replica of the photo on the cover of "Avatar", surrounded by clouds). She was already in a panicky state of mind, and greatly excited, snapped what she thought she saw through the glass window, with her camera. The situation with the plane was ok, and they landed alright.
This was never reported in any newspaper, and there is no paper called "Venezuela Times". All the extra stories about Sai Baba talking about the incident when it is supposed to have happened were later additions, and Sai Baba had later addressed a person during a group interview and said " didn't I tell you when I was going to save that plane? " and of course, the close devotee said "yes, you did, Swami" , who would quarrel with God ????

Result: One more spectacular "miracle" goes into the records!!!!!

A "VISIT" BY SWAMI, CONFIRMED?

This is a very popular story that I have heard since the 1980's....

Myth: In Bangalore, a devotee family was in the habit of conducting weekly bhajans. Once, after a weekly bhajan session, and after prasadam distribution was over, a very little bit of the prasadam was left over. At that time, four persons came in to the house, saying they were Sai Baba devotees from Puttaparthi, and had come for the Bhajans. The available prasadam was just about enough to give a little to these four persons, who left saying "Today Swami himself is here". The next morning, a fellow staying opposite this house, he was NOT a devotee, asked this family if they had a nice meeting with Sai Baba the previous evening. This man said, "I saw Sai Baba go into your house yesterday evening".

Effect: Amazing!!! Since Sai Baba was in Puttaparthi at that time, and had obviously "bilocated" to this home to bless the devotees. He had come as four persons, and so that the family may know it was him, had even made the neighbor convey this to the family. What a fantastic miracle, which God alone could do. This family was so touched and greatly felt blessed, they called up hundreds of devotees and told everyone how Sai Baba had visited them in person and was actually SEEN by their neighbor. Moreover "Sai Baba" had himself said, "Swami himself is here today", after receiving the Prasadam from that house. The news spread like wild fire, gathering momentum as it spread, and also new additions and features. When this family visited Puttaparthi next, they naturally told Sai Baba how happy they were about the "visit", which he was naturally happy to confirm, and it became official for the book writers to report !!!

Fact: What had actually happened was, a group of four persons, on the way back from Puttaparthi were visiting some friends in the neighborhood. They had, by chance asked this family's neighbor the way to the house where Sai Baba bhajans were conducted and were directed there by him. Since this man was not a devotee, he assumed that Sai Baba was visiting, and so bhajans were conducted. And also, as he saw a number of people going there for Bhajans, he thought that Sai Baba had come. The next day he had actually told the family, and that too just conversationally "How was Sai Baba's visit? Did you have a nice meeting with Sai Baba? I saw everything from here". The family immediately jumped to the conclusion that he had actually SEEN Sai Baba himself, and ever on the look out for special "miracles", happily spread the story around. Later that neighbor was asked by someone if he indeed knew for sure that Sai Baba visited that house for bhajan, he replied "of course, I myself saw everything", still assuming that Sai Baba had come personally and so all the crowd was there. This added fuel to fire, and it gathered pace till Sai Baba himself "confirmed" it, and taken along with that visitor's statement "Swami himself is here today", which all devotees say when thay are at Sai Baba Bhajans, this became an "official" bilocation miracle.

Result: Sai Baba can bilocate, something which God alone can do, has done so in many places, here is one example with "hundreds of people" testifying...

SAI BABA "APPEARS" IN A TAXI IN PARIS

I heard this story in 1996.

Myth: A passenger gets into a taxi in Paris, France, and asks to go to a particular address. The taxi driver was not very familiar with the exact location, and so, the passenger who spoke perfect French directed the taxi driver to that address, and upon getting there, gave the taxi driver 200 Francs, saying he will take the taxi drive back in an hour and he wanted the driver to wait. An hour passed and the passenger did not return, so the driver goes up to the apartment complex to the apartment where the passenger said he was visiting and sees a lot of people leaving some kind of a prayer meeting. He sees a big picture of a man in a flowing orange robe and having thick crop of dark hair in the apartment. He says " Hey that is my passenger, he gave me 200 Francs and I have been waiting for him for an hour, is he here?? " The Sai Baba devotees are astonished!!!! Miracle!!!! They tell that man that it was the photo of a spiritual leader in India who was "god" .The taxi driver is not convinced and leaves somewhat doubtfully. After a couple of weeks, he returns to that apartment to ask about the "god" they were talking about and whether he could see him. As a group of people from France were leaving for India, this specially "blessed" taxi driver was given a air ticket and asked to join them. He came along with them to India, and straight away was seated in the first row. During Darshan, Sai Baba came up to him and asked "where is my 100 Francs?". The devotees present with him were amazed at Sai Baba's Omniscient knowledge and confirmation of the "miracle".

Effect: This "great Miracle" of Sai Baba actually bilocating to France for a poor taxi driver and "seen" by so many devotees was spread around to all the devotee groups, along with "evidence" of the "miracle" and also Sai Baba's confirmation of all this. Everyone who hear it passed it on to more people, and nobody doubted this since they all "knew" already that Sai Baba was God and could easily do this.

Fact: What had actually happened was a man from some part of Paris was a stranger to all this Sai Baba phenomena, and someone had given him a book he had read. He got the address of a center in Paris and visited to see what it is all about. He had with him a book that had a picture of Sai Baba as he was traveling in the taxi, which the driver saw. He gave the driver 200 Francs, saying he will be back and went up. After the Bhajan session, someone offered to drive him back wherever he had to go, and he just forgot about the money he had given the driver. When the driver went in to the apartment he saw the photo of Sai Baba there and said " that is the picture my passenger had with him " and NOT "that is my passenger". Since the visitor was a stranger coming for the first time, and had already left with someone, no one knew his name and details and thought immediately that Sai Baba had "visited" them in the form of a stranger. They simply went on and on about Sai Baba 's "miracles" to the poor driver and tried to convince him it was indeed Sai Baba who had come. Later, some one got the bright idea of taking this "specially blessed " man to Puttaparthi , when that confused driver came back the next week. They thought, that taking him there will also get them an interview, and it will also be "seva" for a poor devotee to be taken to India, and arranged his ticket too. After coming to Prashanthi Nilayam, they tried to arrange an interview by informing the inner coterie of all the "details" of the "miracle" and so the group along with the driver was seated in the first row. Of course, news about this "miracle" was taken to Sai Baba, along with details of the 200 Francs etc. Sai Baba also got to know from students close by the French translation of "where is my 100 francs" for dramatic effect, and went ahead and "completed" the "miracle" for all to see.

Result: One more "miracle" into the record.

======================================

I too have come across several so-called learned people (mostly Hindu's) who come out with all sorts of absurd stories of the greatness of Sai Baba.

An interesting link!.............................After a long time.

I have one question though, if those allegations are true, then why won't anyone do anything about it? Especially in the Western Countries?
I respect,  it's near impossible in India unless you are high profile/super rich to fight an organisaton  of that calibre.

I have to wonder if this is another attempt by the Christian church to discredit  another imposer who claim to be God/God's son/avatar or whatever, so they continue to reap the benefit of selling the son of God & not have Christian ppl branch out to other areas thus shrinking their collection hat.  undecided

I am sorry but I have been taught  not to accept  things at it's face value & question everything. So there.

I beg to disagree with your assement of the author of this thread.

I myself appreciate this info from this link .

Here's another shocking snippet from that link :

Allegations against Sai Baba

Sydney-based HANS DE KRAKER was an ardent devotee of Sai Baba for five years. His allegations of sexual abuse against the godman first appeared in The Sunday Age on November 12.

Allegations (as sent in a signed affidavit to INDIA TODAY): "As I was paying homage according to Indian customs, I touched his feet. He then grabbed my head and pushed it into his groin area. He made moaning sounds. The same sound that would later confirm my thoughts. As soon as he took the pressure off my head and I lifted it up, Sai Baba lifted his dress and presented me a semi-erect member telling me that this was my good luck chance and pushed his hips towards my face. After careful consideration, I determined that this was not what I wanted and should be doing and responded to Sai Baba that I only wanted his heart. He then dropped his dress, clearly 'caught with his hands in the candy jar' and told me that I had his heart. He went on to offer me 'another good luck chance', which I refused again."

STATUS: Kraker has so far not filed any legal complaint against Baba in his own country. The Sai Baba Ashram in Puttaparthi neither denies nor confirms the charge.

JENS SETHI is a German settled in Munich. He was a Sai Baba devotee for 10 years. His charges were published for the first time by the Focus magazine on September 18.

Allegations (as sent in a signed affidavit to INDIA TODAY): "In the private chamber, Baba said 'Come,' and kissed me on my lips for a long time. I resisted and he gurgled, 'Have no fear. This is a good opportunity, so many are waiting for months and will not get.' He asked me to remove my trousers, unzipped my fly and went with his right hand into my underpants. Baba massaged the genitals unasked. He expected some erection but this did not happen for I didn't feel any sexual excitement. I also didn't come for such games to Puttaparthi. I was really disgusted. Baba was disappointed and had the impudence to say, 'It is very weak, don't waste energy.' When I looked at him, I realised the truth about him. He had such an evil vibration that moment. Soon, he sent me out of the room without saying a word."

STATUS: Sethi recently filed a complaint with the public prosecutor in Munich. The Sai Baba Ashram has no comment on the allegations.

CONNY LARRSON, a Swede, was a Baba devotee for 21 years. His allegations first appeared (in part) in The Daily Telegraph, London on October 20.

Allegations (as told to INDIA TODAY): "Baba called me for several private interviews. I did not know what was happening between him and me but I believed him when he said he was God and was helping me with my problems. It was odd since he did this by physically approaching my genitals, sometimes smearing oil, later by masturbating me and asking for the same to be done to him. He also performed oral sex on me several times. He always seemed to enjoy it immensely. When he asked me to perform oral sex on him, I backed out due to my background as a molested child."

STATUS: No formal complaint has been filed so far. The ashram is again mum on the case.

SHADOW PLAY

Controversy could well be Sai Baba's middle name. He has been dogged by various kinds of allegations in the past-though none of them has ever been proven.

A BLOODY SUMMER

On June 6, 1993, gunshots rang out in Baba's ashram. In the squalid incident, four persons (all of them devotees) were killed by the police but passed off as an assassination attempt on the godman. There were a lot of questions. Why did the police kill all four? Where was the Swami all this time? Why would four long-time devotees suddenly turn against their own god? The police justified their action saying they had no option as they found the four assailants in Baba's chambers with daggers in hand. And, as usual, the Baba preferred to remain silent on the issue.

BETWEEN THE LINES

In the mid 1980s, Tal Brooke wrote Avatar of Night in which he gave details of sexual advances made by Baba 20 years ago. It became instant controversy and was denounced by Baba's followers. They described it as a crude attempt to make some fast money. Today, a second edition of the book is out.

Look how Baba performs like a bad

magician...

On this page are twelve clear and short movie-clips and two full movies, on which you can see how Baba performs his 'miracles'.

Apparently you will need Windows Media Player 7.1 (9.94 MB, old version) or Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows 98 Second Edition, Me, and 2000 English (13.62 MB).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Short Clips

01. Baba cheating with vibhuti

02. Baba cheating with lingam

03. Baba cheating with vibhuti

04. Baba cheating with necklace

05. Baba cheating with vibhuti

06. Baba cheating with necklace

07. Baba cheating with vibhuti

08. Baba grabs something from behind his cushion

09. Baba cheating with vibhuti

10. Baba cheating with lingam

11. Baba cheating with necklace

12. Baba cheating with lingam

13. Baba cheating with lingam

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Online movies:

Baba cheating in video Guru Busters

Seduced

Testimony from Sam Young in 'Seduced'

The Secret Swami

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

01.

Baba cheating with vibhuti (1.84 MB):

You can clearly see how Baba gets something from his left hand, in which he is holding the letters, and then a bit later is performing vibhuti with his right hand.

02.

Baba cheating with lingam (1,91 MB, with sound):

This movie shows how Baba acts as if he is coughing and because of this he has to use a handkerchief, but in fact he has already got the lingam in his handkerchief and puts the lingam with his left hand into his mouth; immediately afterwards he vomits the lingam.

03.

Baba cheating with vibhuti (1.90 MB):

Look, from the beginning, at Baba's right hand! You can see that he is grabbing something (probably vibhuti) from under the letters which he is holding in his left hand, after that he performs vibhuti and distributes it four times.

04.

Baba cheating with necklace (1.8 MB, quality of movie not very ok)

Right from the beginning you must watch his hands in the purple circle, the left hand is taking over something from the right hand, in which he holds a letter too. Then he is going to walk, and at the end he stops, and the right hand performs the 'materialization' of a necklace.

05.

Baba cheating with vibhuti (0.9 MB)

Watch Sai Baba's right hand a moment after he takes a letter from the person he is talking to: just before the second person to the left raises his head. You can see Sai Baba deposit the letter he had taken on top of the pile in his left hand. Then you can clearly see him reach in under the letters in his left hand, which is a totally unnecessary move and pull out something. In fact you can see him make two distinct moves when his right hand is under the letter pile. First move seems to be pulling out something, and the second move is catching or collecting something. Then he pulls out his right hand and the thumb now is close to the inner palm, clearly holding something. Now he steps back, and waving his hand, "crushes" something, and passes around vibhuti.

06.

Baba cheating with necklace (1.7 MB)

This is the footage shot by Indian TV in Hyderabad, in August 1992. This footage created a storm in the Indian press, and later was "withdrawn" by PM Narasimha Rao's influence. Sai Baba's assistant brings the memento to Sai Baba , which Sai Baba holds with both hands, the assistant is still holding the memento with both hands too. Now the devotee does namaskar to Sai Baba, and comes forward to receive the memento. From this point watch Sai Baba's right hand closely. After the devotee accepts the memento, as Sai Baba instead of releasing his right hand, moves it further towards the assistant's hand under the memento, we can clearly see Sai Baba's right hand and the right hand of Sai Baba's assistant making contact as if in a "handshake" at the moment the devotee has got the memento in both hands. Particularly note the way the assistant's right hand moves away after contacting Sai Baba's right hand... it is released in the typical manner after "putting something" with a cupped hand. This clip is actually better when seen in the normal speed.

07.

Baba cheating with vibhuti (3.78 MB )

This is one of the best ever video clips I had seen, where you can physically see the vibuthi tablet transferred, and you can see it in Sai Baba's right hand between the fingers and also see it being crushed by the thumb. Note that in all vibuthi "materializations", the left hand and the right hand would have always come in contact with a cupping motion moments before the "miracle", and after this contact the right thumb will always be held close to or under the fingers. A professional conjurer, Nils Krøjgaard, explains how the trick is performed. The ash is tightly compressed in small tablets. Occasionally, when Sathya Sai Baba thinks no one is watching his hands, he transfers the tablets from one hand to another. In this clip, a close up shows the tablet very clearly. Note: Do not be distracted by the beautiful face of Goldie Hawn that is circled in this clip during this "miracle"… keep watching Sai Baba's right hand… We shouldn't let "maya" turn us away from Truth "Swami says"… so let us all follow this advice and see "Truth". Smiley (We can always see Goldie anytime later, of course.)

08.

Baba grabs something from behind his cushion (0.5 MB)

Yet another rare and excellent video clip shot during a group interview. Watch the cushion behind Sathya Sai Baba's back. It hides a number of items. In this clip, you can see him get up and reach for something behind the cushion with his right hand, to "produce" it and give to someone in the room. Watch the right hand as he is half standing, and in fact the movement of the right shoulder, clearly will indicate he is digging in and reaching for something.

09.

Baba cheating with vibhuti (0.7 MB )

Yet another vibhuti trick. Need we say more? Have a look.

10.

Baba cheating with lingam (4 MB)

See how Baba brings the lingam into his mouth at the first time he brings a white handkerchief to his mouth with his left hand. Notice the bent third, fourth and fifth fingers from his left hand in which he holds the lingam, and watch how these fingers stretch flat, just at the moment the lingam has arrived in his mouth.

Baba's technique is exactly the same as in the first lingam trick on this page, this movie shows how Baba acts as if he is coughing and because of this he has to use a handkerchief, but in fact he has already got the lingam in his handkerchief and puts the lingam with his left hand into his mouth; immediately afterwards he vomits the lingam.

11.

Baba cheating with necklace (1 MB, with sound):

One must look very carefully right from the beginning after Baba has lifted his hand to greet, you can clearly see that he is grasping the necklace from under the statue, and when he has done it, he looks around to see whether anybody has seen him.

The movie as we found it, was manipulated, some frames were cut out, but the trick performed by Baba, is very clear to see.
12.

Baba cheating with lingam (2.65 MB, with sound):

This time, the lingam didn't come out of his mouth, but from his left hand. Please watch only the hands from the start of the movie, the left arm is left calm but the small lingam is doubtless already lying in it and the right hand is waving and still empty. After a few moments Baba passes the lingam to his right hand, which happens behind the microphone standard, but we can clearly see the masking of the trick with a white handkerchief. From that moment on, you can see that the  3rd, 4th and 5th fingers of the right hands are bent, the lingam is already in it, before he 'materialises' it a few seconds later.

13.

Baba cheating with lingam (5 MB, with sound):

Sai Baba allowed an unprecedented live broadcast in the Indian subcontinent of his so-called 'lingodbhava' (bringing the egg-like ellipsoidal object out of his mouth after what looks like a painful process of 'regurgitation'). However, one can most clearly see that NO lingam actually emerged at all - view the most important fragment of the clip in slow motion - this year. Instead there was a small spurt of yellowish vomit, which was later claimed to be the lingam in liquid golden form!

A film clip of the 'actual emergence' has been posted on the internet by devotees. One can pause the video and examine each frame separately to analyse the movements. (View the film clip on kingdomofsai.org, Baba vomitted spurt two times, only the last time with the handkerchief was filmed.). From before the alleged 'emergence', SSB is clearly seen to be holding something just about the size of the lingam inside the towel between the thumb and forefinger of his right hand! Now what on earth could that be, one wonders? After the vomit, he lets go of what he was holding in secret and fumbles to extract it with his right hand, taking the lingam from under the towel just where it was being held earlier, and we see a rather confused look of resignation cross his features.

The most popular of all Indian Godmen, Sai Baba has always been the Teflon God, the untouchable, charismatic man worshipped by Indian prime ministers, presidents and peasants. His power over both the influential and the downtrodden goes to the heart of Indian society and raises serious questions about the social health of the world’s fastest-emerging economy.

Sai Baba claims to be a living God and, to millions, his word is truth; his ability to bring clean water and healthcare to thousands, proof of divinity.

In a programme that explores the nature of belief, This World travels from India to California, where the generation whose devotion and donations helped Sai Baba to power is unravelling at the seams.

Hard Rock Café owner Isaac Tigrett sent Sai Baba’s message around the world by making the Godman’s Love All Serve All mantra the corporate slogan of his multimillion-dollar empire. He now has to confront the fact that his God may have been a sexual abuser.

This World features the story of a family who gave their entire lives to a man they believed was God, only to discover he was exacting a terrible price: the sexual innocence of their son. In an intimate and powerful portrait a family talk openly about their betrayal and the man who controlled their lives.

“The being which I called Sai Baba, the living God that I had taken into my heart, had been truly abusing my son, for so long. I felt completely betrayed,” says Marissa, a former devotee.Another,

Alaya, says: “I remember him saying, ‘If you don’t do what I say, your life will be filled with pain and suffering’.”

This programme is the first to film inside Sai Baba’s Ashram for a number of years and aims to come closer to the true “face of God” than ever before.

Re: Sai Baba- Think Twice

Introduction

The Findings are something that both David and I never thought or knew existed, and although neither of us could have ever even imagined that one day we would be compiling them, the unthinkable has happened.

The following is the spelling out of a situation that exists with Sai Baba. Sadly, it is extremely negative, and will possibly shock and distress you greatly as it did us, when we found ourselves in the incredible position of being presented with information we could not ignore. Once David accepted that something was very, very wrong, he began his own research. He has been very thorough, meanwhile hoping and praying every moment that the things he was uncovering were untrue. These findings are the last thing we both would ever have wanted.

However, they exist. We ask only that you read them all before forming any judgement.

Apart from our separate personal experiences, there are also included experiences of others, chosen from many such, which are an integral part of unveiling this huge, illusory global scam - the biggest hoax in the God business. A veritable mountain of information is now available, far more than I can possibly place before you. My task is to report the findings I do offer accurately, while presenting a cross section of untenable behaviour, lies uncovered and magic exposed. David has spent long hours and many months, talking to people all over the world, whilst unravelling this tangled skein of years of deceit accumulated around the said ‘divinity incarnate’, but he is not alone in this. Courageous people on every continent are banding together to expose the monumental spiritual fraud which has been perpetrated for the personal gain of a select group, headed by Sai Baba.

Disillusioned people of every rank and file who have also found what lies behind the facade - including ex-students of the Sai colleges, judges, doctors, government ministers in Europe, the Americas, Australia and beyond - are in agreement that it is now time to share their findings. There are hundreds of personal accounts which tear the veil from the ‘avatar’. I give only a few. Due to verbosity from some of the contributors, I have edited the information, but not altered its context. Contributors have given permission to be quoted and identified. The accounts that follow are merely a fraction of those available, all describing a situation that has been functional for many years. This is an opportunity to become aware of it, thus moving into a position enabling informed choice, rather than one coming from ignorance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I begin with my personal revelations. Those who read David’s and my books (written before our discoveries and since removed from sale by us), know our history. How devoted we were to Sai Baba, to the point of each marrying the other, even though we were strangers from opposite sides of the world. How we travelled the world speaking of the wonder of him.

So, what happened to change everything?

When the dark side of Sai Baba began to be revealed to David, at first I refused to listen, unable to bear hearing anything negative about my beloved ‘avatar of the age’. This unhappy state of affairs continued for six months, until on our next visit to India, I had my own validation of David’s findings. Can you imagine how it felt as I began to see beyond the veil? For years I had enjoyed the privilege of being called to the interview room and had spent every moment there, focused only on Swami’s face; until David suggested that I shift my attention to his hands. Watching rings, watches and other trinkets being palmed, or pulled out from the side of chair cushions, and seeing vibhuti tablets held between fingers before being crushed and ‘manifest’ was a horrifying revelation, a personal catastrophe for me. I had given up my life, my marriage, husband, children, home, career and homeland because of my love for Sai Baba - only to find trickery at the epicenter of all I held dear.

During subsequent interviews, increasingly aghast as I watched the same things happen again and again, I kept silently pleading ‘Why? Why do it ??’ This illusionist activity totally destroyed my trust in one whom I expected to practise the truth he preached. But magician’s tricks were the very least of it. As time passed, and people began sharing their own experiences and findings with us, my world of divine-guru centred spirituality came crashing down.

Whilst still at the ashram, the worst thing for me - as a mother of sons - occurred when a young man, a college student, came to our room, to plead with David. ‘Please Sir, do something to stop him sexually abusing us’ (!). These sons of devotees, unable to bear their untenable position of being unwilling participants in a paedophile situation any longer, yet unable to share this with their parents because they would be disbelieved, placed their trust in David; a trust which had built over his five years as a visiting professor of music to the Sai college.

Later that night the same young man returned to our room in great distress, to implore David not to reveal his name, saying that he feared expulsion from the college, and even worse than that, for his personal safety, if it were to be found out that he had spoken of these things. David was able to reassure him that he didn’t know his name, therefore could not, and would not, ever identify him. But this interaction and shocking revelation was merely the tip of an iceberg of sickening information, an iceberg that was to batter then sink our years of blind devotion.

Becoming increasingly cognisant of Sai Baba’s sexual activity involving violation of basic human rights with the children (as young as seven years old) under his care, and the growing list of one deceit after another in activities stemming from him, brought awareness of the depth of our own emotional investment. Awareness also, of the devastation these discoveries wrought in us. We were placed in an untenable situation; unable to risk creating similar chaos in other spiritual seekers of like investment. The only course was to say little and move away, which caused a furore of angry and untrue rumours about us to proliferate.

Last year, David felt it appropriate to share his findings when personally questioned, but the dilemma of whether to speak or not tested me sorely. I felt keenly the responsibility of holding this negative knowledge; recognising that silence made me part of the conspiracy, but kept praying that given time, somehow, all of it would be satisfactorily explained away. It was not to be.

Over the past eighteen months we have become privy to so many serious, and horrific allegations, and so much darn
ing information sent from disillusioned ex-devotees from all over the world (in particular, from ex-students of Sai Baba’s male colleges) which supported our own findings, that it is now impossible to remain silent.

As editor of a magazine that has as its mandate the seeking of truth, I have no option but to fulfil my responsibility to that mandate. My decision to do so, follows much personal anguish, and earnest prayer, and I have been given the necessary support and courage by my inner guidance and outer, true friends.

It is not the doctrine of Sai Baba that is being scrutinised, but his practices within it - not the message, but the messenger. His message is for the most part, one of universal verities, even though his teachings have been found to have many contradictions, misquotes and proven anomalies.

The allegations I have gathered to record here, are in regard to the global scam he perpetrates. His chicanery, illusion, fraud, embezzlement, implication with murders, ongoing paedophile activities and the almost impenetrable fortress of lies creating his ‘divinity’. The weight of detailed descriptive testimony regarding his participation in sexual activity with willing - and unwilling partners (both students and visiting foreigners), discounting the widely distributed justification of ‘kundalini raising’. The super speciality hospital and water project being shown to be paper tigers, with apparent embezzlement of money, organ theft and unfulfilled hydration promises.

There are known investigations at governmental level world wide. The Sai school has been closed in Sweden. A veritable volcano is about to erupt, due to the disquiet of many, many people. The Internet has had a major role in this. The mass of experience and evidence being presented there is hard, thrusting, knife edged; and backed by courageous ex-devotees prepared to put their names to such statements for the good of all. David has personally contacted many of the contributors, and listened as they verbally verified and further described their own experiences.

Sadly, there is no way this letter can be gently worded.

The truth that THIS SITUATION EXISTS will stand. It will stand, whether it is believed or not.

I fully appreciate the grief and awful sense of loss reading these revelations may bring to you. David and I have experienced it and we know how terrible it can be. I send you my love and empathy.

Subject : PERSONAL EXPERIENCES

I have written this because so many rumours (often completely untrue) have spread about Faye and myself, as to why we moved away from Sai Baba. I know that what you are going to read here may cause you deep distress. The situation I am about to reveal, is certainly not something we could ever have imagined possible.

I only ask you to read it all, while accepting that these are my personal experiences. I share with you my truth. No more, no less.

There have been many sleepless nights as I grappled with the task of what to do and how to cope with this indisputable factual information, in the light of my responsibility to the many, many people who read my books and heard me speak.

The following findings are a result of my heart-aching research, over a period of three years

Vibhuti

During darshan, Sai Baba carries vibhuti in tablet form between the third and fourth fingers of his right hand, with spare tablets in the hand holding up his robe. He crushes a tablet when required, and transfers tablets during the taking of letters. I have watched this happen innumerable times. Once on the mandir porch he dropped a tablet in front of me, and told a member of the Trust to "Eat it Quickly!"

Tablet-palming can be clearly seen on many videos, if slowed down to frame-by-frame viewing, including in our wedding day interview video, used at the beginning of "God lives in India" This video has been removed from sale by the Trust.

Australian television, in it’s programme ’60 MINUTES’ (their equivalent of ‘PANORAMA’) showed how these ‘B grade’ conjuring tricks are done.

Vibhuti tablets explain why vibhuti distribution runs out in the interview room before everyone has had some.

All powder vibhuti is produced by roasting cow dung with sandal wood, and manufactured vibhuti bought elsewhere, is then double sieved by ladies of the ashram seva dal, before being packaged for interview room distribution.

Use of vibhuti on open wounds consistently causes infection in them; a fact commented by Faye to me when she was called to deal with people having these infections in the ashram.

Jewellry etc

All are worthless trinkets. Some are bought in Puttaparthi village, but mainly they come from Bangalore and Hyderabad. I made it my business to meet one of the jewellers concerned and have this information verified.

I was told by Sai Baba and also by members of his inner circle, that my ‘materialised’ ring with it’s huge stone was a sixty-four faceted diamond of great commercial value. After leaving the ashram in December 1998, I damaged one of the clasps on the ring and took it to a jeweller in southern India, many hundreds of kilometers away. This stranger immediately recognised it as a ‘Sai Baba’ ring. He told me that the metal it was made of was not gold, also that the stone was a valueless zircon, and under it there was a piece of silver paper to make the zircon glitter, which was why the back of the ring was solid. He informed me that these hard backed rings are especially made for Sai Baba. As he took the stone out to repair the damaged clasp, sure enough, a piece of silver paper fell out, and the stone thus revealed was seen to be a zircon.

The then Sai organisation co-ordinator of Ireland was with Faye and me at the time, and another lady who had a Baba ring in which a face (attributed to Baba because of the black head of hair round a small ‘face’), could be seen. The jeweller showed us how these are made. A piece of coloured glass has a small piece of silver paper behind it so that at certain angles it reflects the colour of one’s own face. This is surrounded by a circular ring of black enamel to give the impression of hair. He lifted the stone out of the ring and proved this also, was so. The Irish co-ordinator took photos of the rings. On his return to Ireland, he resigned and left the organisation.

When Sai Baba decides to give someone a robe in the interview room, he does so as a cover to get further trinkets from his store in the back room. More than a few times Faye and I have heard the sound of a drawer being opened and the tinkle of metallic things being moved. He returns with them hidden under the robe (and we have watched him transferring trinkets from under the robe on his lap to his right hand - it’s just so obvious when you look) before waving his hand while faking a materialisation. His velvet chair contains objects hidden in the sides. We have seen them there and then observed his sleight of hand as he brings them out of hiding.

But, well before I was aware of these things, I began to have some doubts about the authenticity of Sai Baba’s claims of divine manifestation. During my second interview, one of the first things I noticed which bothered me was that someone asked him to repair a broken chain on a japamala, and another had lost a stone from a ring. He did nothing at the time, but said "No, no, I will change for new one tomorrow". I found this very perplexing. Why, if he could create anything at will, which is what I had been told, did he not blow on these things and repair them then? I now know why. He cannot.

Healing

I have not seen him do a genuine healing on anybody in all my time of being close to him, and having had innumerable interviews. I have seen him tell people to stand up, and get out of wheel chairs, but the effect is not lasting. He generally ignores the sick and frail ones, giving out as reason, their karma.

I think you are referring to the miracle  Grin of him coughing out a Lingam.

My understanding is that he actually vomitted some yellow liquid into his handkerchief in which was hidden a Lingam, and he then uncovered the handkerchief and showed the Lingam to the audience as if it was the Lingam he brought out of his mouth, got it ?

Just a cheap magician's trick if you ask me.

Sorry, I am not the author of that Web site.

I think the author is David Bailey a Dutch guy, I think.

I only learned of the Web site in this Forum, and cut pasted from there for the benefit of the Forum users as that site is a bit difficult to navigate through.

How ever, Srimavao Bandranayake(former Ceylon/SriLankan Prime minister believes sai baba, in 90s, she visted regularly south india , and does get blessing from Sai baba.

Well..........now you have to figure out who told the truth?
Jesus or Sai Baba?
There can't be two sons of God or can there?   undecided

Note: Do not be distracted by the beautiful face of Goldie Hawn that is circled in this clip during this "miracle"… keep watching Sai Baba's right hand…
